| Professor John Anderson
Professor Anderson holds a M Phil and D Phil in BioEngineering and was granted a Personal Chair in Medical Electronics in 1990. He has been Head of School, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, University of Ulster, Head of BioEngineering at the Royal Victoria Hospital and Director of the Northern Ireland Bio-Engineering Centre. In 1994 he was made a founding Fellow of the Biological Engineering Society. He has published over 300 papers in the field of bioengineering research and holds 18 patents in the field.
John was responsible for the development of the world’s first truly portable defibrillator designed for use outside of the hospital. He has created a number of companies all providing leading edge medical products in the areas of defibrillators, body surface mapping and implantable atrial defibrillation. |
