Primary Care Pulse Wave Velocity
Direct peripheral artery detection of Pulse Wave Velocity is a useful index in assessing atherosclerosis which is now regarded as an early warning for cardiac dysfunction, hypertension and diabetes.
ST+D produce a patented PWV measurement system which provides reliable measurement over the short distance of the lower arm without the need for ECG measurement. When built into a blood cuff, this system opens the possibility of PWV being a universal, unskilled screening test to highlight at-risk patients.
Based on the Wireless Vital Signs Platform, the PWV system is small enough to be built into blood cuffs and has no trailing wires. |
